December 20, 2010 Fifty-First Day

The Worth County Board of Supervisors met pursuant to adjournment with all members present.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to approve the December 13, 2010 board minutes.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to recess the regular meeting.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to open the public hearing for DD7/Main at 9:04 a.m.

Jim Hyde gave a cost estimate for clean out of $57,700. Comment was heard and those in attendance agreed to proceed with the clean out.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to close the public hearing at 9:18 a.m.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to resume the regular meeting.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to approve the clean out for DD7/Main per Jim Hyde’s recommendation.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to approve the sheriff’s monthly report.

Motion by Creger, second by Haugen, to approve the compensation board’s recommendation of a 2% increase for the attorney, auditor, recorder, treasurer, & sheriff and 0% for the supervisors. Salaries of elected official for FY11/12 will be Attorney - $48,885; Auditor - $45,867; Recorder - $45,867; Treasurer - $45,867; Sheriff - $56,745; Supervisors - $27,155; Supervisor Chair - $27,655. Aye – Creger & Haugen; Nay – May. Motion carried.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to approve the bid from Universal Contractors, Inc. for replacement of courthouse windows at $51,138.00 and from Mason City Glass Service for an automatic door at $2,272.00.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to recess the regular meeting to go into a closed session at 11:28 a.m. per section 21.5(j) of the Code of Iowa to discuss the purchase of Xenia Rural Water assets.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to reconvene the regular meeting at 11:51 a.m.

The meeting adjourned until 9:00 A.M., December 28, 2010.
