July 19, 2010 Twenty-Ninth Day

The Worth County Board of Supervisors met pursuant to adjournment with all members present.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to approve the July 12, 2010 board minutes.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to approve the petition submitted by Jerry Olson on DD11/Main A and award the job to Rognes Brothers Exc., Inc. for $8,950.00.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to approve the sheriff’s monthly and quarterly reports.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to recess the regular board meeting.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to open the public hearing for Ordinance #07-12-10 Social Host Ordinance at 10:01 A.M. Public comment was heard. Ken Parcher stated that he is not a proponent of underage drinking but has concerns as to how the word reasonable is determined, liability issues, and taking away rights. Melissa Deckard, Janelle Johnson, & Tina Kuennen representing WCAT stated that law enforcement gathers the evidence and that the ordinance is for protection and determent. Jeff Creger stated that Keith Fritz had called the supervisors and expressed his support for the ordinance.

Motion by May, second by Creger, carried to close the public hearing at 10:35 A.M.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to reconvene the regular meeting.

The third reading of Ordinance #07-12-10 Social Host Ordinance will be July 26, 2010 at 10:00 A.M.

Motion by Creger, second by May, carried to approve the contract between Vanguard Appraisals, Inc. and Worth County, IA Assessor in the amount of $18,500.00.

The meeting adjourned until 9:00 A.M., July 26, 2010.
