PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF WORTH
COUNTY, IOWA

The
Board of Supervisors of Mitchell County and Worth County convened at 12:00 p.m.
at the Carpenter Bar & Grill in Carpenter, IA. Present from Worth County were
Supervisors Jeff Creger, David Haugen, Dennis May and Auditor Kay Clark.
Present from Mitchell County were Supervisors Joel Voaklander, Stan Walk and
Auditor Lowell Tesch. Supervisor Bob Marreel was attending a funeral. Also
present were County Engineer Jim Hyde and Assistant County Engineer Rich Brumm.
Motion
by Voaklander, second by Haugen to approve the agenda. All voted aye.
The salary
package for the Engineer and the Assistant Engineer was reviewed. Jim stated
that effective July 1, 2010 he would be stepping down as the County Engineer
and would be assuming the duties as the Assistant Engineer and Rich will become
the County Engineer for both counties. Effective July 1, 2010 Jim’s salary will
be $60,000 and Rich’s salary will be $85,000. The combined salaries are $27,000
less than the state average of what dual Iowa County Engineers and Assistants
receive. Jim stated that he will continue working the same hours as he has been
previously. Motion by Creger, second by Voaklander to approve the salary
package as presented. Roll call vote: all ayes.
The FY
2011 Engineer’s employment contract and agreement was reviewed. After
discussion, motion by Voaklander, second by May to approve the contract. This
will be effective July 1, 2010. Roll call vote: all ayes. It was reported that
the health insurance package will continue to be administered by Worth County.
There being no further business, the meeting
was adjourned at 12:15 p.m. All voted aye.
