Director’s report:

  1. The annual conference was interesting but not highly educational.  Carroll CCB has a very nice educational center that was just completed.
  2. CCPOA workshop was very educational as usual.  Completed my firearms certification with no problems.  We will be hosting the spring workshop for CCPOA in March.
  3. The new shelter is getting closer to completion but the weather is not helping.  Need to get the outside stained, complete the serving station, put in the tables (have been ordered) and grills (are here).
  4. All we have to finish for the small picnic shelter is to finish the rafters.  Madgaard should have it up in one day when they have time to do the job.
  5. Brett has been running the wet blade mower and is making progress on the brush problem.  Has to work out several bugs but everything seems to working now.
  6. The C 80 is at D&L Equipment as there is something wrong with the rear end.
  7. Mehus and the Supervisors have signed the purchase contract.
  8. The no hunting exclusion at Land of Two Waters has been resolved and the Bd. of Health is no longer in charge of the project.  Shane is working directly for the Bd. of Supervisors now.  We need to decide if we can use the money here on a project.
  9. I have not heard back from Leroy Navratil after we discussed the appraisal.
  10. Do you have any agenda items for meeting with the Supervisors in November other than: campgrounds – Silver Lake and Casino, trails – bike and water,  ?????

Christiansen moved to accept the directors report.  Second by Smith.  Motion carried.

Have Scheduled hunter safety with Central Springs for December.

Diversity in stream surveys seems down, found small mouth bass (2) in deer creek and northern pike (1) in willow creek.  Minnows definitely less.  Presense of Caddisflies in Shell Rock though is a good sign water quality wise.

Going to start timber work in October with both ecology classes.

Smith moved to accept the naturalists report.  Second by Christiansen.  Motion carried.

Christiansen moved to approve the annual report.  Second by Smith.  Motion carried.

The Falkstone contract was reviewed.  Comments on royalties and when they were due were made.  Also there was discussion on getting the berm finished and seeded down by next spring.  Vansteenburg asked the we set up a monitoring point to measure the water levels over the next few years incase the quarry operations impacts the water levels.
